Oil Cleansing Method // Why You Should Be Doing It

Companies in the cosmetic industry are touting “oil-free” in all of their products, but that is really a misconception. Cleansing your face with oil is really the best way to clean your face quickly and efficiency.

Remember when your high school chemistry teacher was droning on about solubility and he was talking about how like dissolves like? Well guess what? It’s exactly like that when you wash your face.

When you want to dissolve the oil on your face, you should use an oil based cleanser. And the best part about using an oil based cleanser is that it has no harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin.

So how do you do the oil cleansing method? First, you want to take a homemade oil blend (castor oil and almond oil are great options) or if you are like me and are DIY challenged, the MOGI MOUSSE Oil Cleanser is fantastic, and massage it onto your dry face.

Next, take a washcloth and run it under warm water. Once fully damp, lay it over your face and let the steam pull the gunk out of your pores. Gently remove the cleanser with your washcloth and then you’re done! Finish with your skincare routine and I promise you will see the benefits!

  1. Just checked out your blog on oil cleansing, beautiful post. In my country, typically, we use Olive and Castor Oil blend to cleanse our face. Depending on your skin type, you would mix a certain amount of the oils, together. Next, you would have to clean your face, making sure no makeup or other impurities aren’t seen. Then, you would get a wet-cloth in lukewarm water and place it on face. Leave cloth in face, because it essential “steams” your pores. Once you left it for 10 minutes, you wipe you face, gently with cloth, to remove the oil. After that, we would work on toning and moisturizing my skin, But I’ve been typing quite a lot, let me know if you to know about toning or moisturizing your skin, or any questions you might have for me. – Panemorfi blog!

  2. Great post! I have oily skin and have been using Oil Cleansers for about 3 years (since I discovered Caroline Hirons and her incredible advice) and have found it sooooo beneficial for my skin. It is definitely less oilier when I use an oil cleanser and I have much fewer breakouts. I’ve tried quite a few but I’ve not seen this one so will have to pop it on my wishlist! x
